Not every booking needs checking the moment it lands. Same-day, next-day and month-out bookings each have a different window that actually makes sense.
Re-verifying every booking the instant it's pushed sounds thorough. In practice it isn't the right default — timing matters, and the right window depends on how soon the guest is actually travelling.
A sensible queue, roughly
- Same-day check-in: within 1–2 hours
- Next-day check-in: within 6–8 hours
- A week out: within 2–4 days
- A month out: within 7–15 days
Why time zone still gets in the way
A same-day booking posted at 10pm India time, for a same-day check-in in Japan, is a hard window regardless of the queue — properties run with reduced staff overnight, and there's genuinely nobody to re-verify with until morning.
And why an immediate check-in doesn't need it at all
When a guest has already arrived and is checking in right there, a booking typically takes 30–60 minutes to appear in the hotel's own system after submission. By the time it would show up, the guest is already inside — re-verification has nothing left to protect against.
